May has been a busy month for Marcus, at school there have been SOL (Standard of Learning) tests going on which has meant some studying during the evenings. Swimming has continued to go well and he is enjoying the laps a lot more than when he started. Soccer has been very exciting with Marcus' team performing well in their division and all of the team have been working together really well. Marcus put in a lot of effort at the Reston Kids Triathlon this month even though the distances for his age group went up. He did well enough in the Oak Hill 5K although his time was very similar to last years time. He seems ready for summer swim team and is excited for the end of the school year.

The big ten, double digits, this month Sophie turned 10. We did some celebrating with special friends and Sophie really had a good time. This year Sophie got a new bike (in April), lots of rainbow loom stuff from Granny Kate, money from Grandma Bea, LEGO friends from Marcus.
Sophie has been shinning on her soccer team this month, she has really been putting in a lot of effort and playing hard in each game and at practice. She also did really well in the Oakhill 5K where she managed to beat Damian to the finish line (he will get revenge next year). Swimming practice for summer swim started on Memorial Day and Sophie showed off her swimming prowess from all of those early morning practices. Along with all of this other exercise she also managed to complete a triathlon.
Sophie's most played song this month was Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger"
