This month we took our second big trip of the year to California and Hawaii, we spent a few weeks with the Grinyer family and all had a great time.

Marcus

This month seems to have been made up breaking up from school, getting ready for our vacation, and being on vacation. The school part seems to have been pretty relaxed and Marcus had a lot of fun events and activities as the school slowed down near the two week holiday. Cello practice has been going well and his soccer team seems to be doing really well with all of their games. Vacation was fun for Marcus and he really enjoyed doing most of the things that we did, especially spending time on the beach. First day on the Maui beach left Marcus with a jellyfish sting after he picked up a tentacle (lesson now learned).

Sophie

Sophie finished school strong before the holiday getting good results in her yearend review. Like Marcus, Sophie's school time leading up to the holiday was quite relaxed and there were a lot of fun activities for the class. On vacation Sophie had a blast and really got involved in the things that we did. She was a little tentative in the water at first but soon got beyond that and by the end of the vacation she was bodysurfing comfortably with the boys. Quote of the vacation for us was when Sophie wanted to get out of the water while snorkeling because she "Didn't realize that there would be fish in the water".
