Marcus really enjoyed time playing with friends in the snow this month, and he also seemed to be pretty accurate when throwing snowballs at his Dad. A piece of art made by Marcus was chosen to be one of 10 pieces in a collection of art representing the school this month and we got to see his art on a movie screen when he received his award. Hiking with some scout friends was a fun event and gave us some much needed outdoor time after all of the snow of the past few months. Marcus did great in the Mighty Mile and broke his personal best by completing the mile in 7:15.

Sophie

Sophie's class performance was a fun event for us to see; she sang and danced well although she was too shy to speak into the microphone. Helping in the yard isn't Sophie's thing and during our mulch spreading day she managed to turn her jobs into a fun playtime. Sophie got to play in the snow again this month although I think that, like all of us, she was pretty much done with winter, and didn't really need more snow. Port Discovery sleepover was a big event for Sophie this month and she had a lot of fun exploring the museum and sleeping on the floor with her friends, Nien on the other hand had a sleepless night. The Mighty Mile in Reston was a really good race for Sophie, she ran really hard and managed to complete the mile in a personal best of 8:04, winning 3rd place in her age group.
