Marcus
Age9 Years 3 Months
Weight76 lb
Height4′ 7″
Sports have been hit and miss for Marcus this month; many activities were cancelled due to the bad weather, cold, or holidays; so it's been a rare chance to burn off all of his energy, even the one time that we went sledding it was too cold to stay out for very long. The few games that have been played have gone well for both basketball and soccer, and Marcus has showed a high effort level in both. He seemed to really enjoy the hikes this month and this is something that we plan on doing more of in the near future. Pinewood Derby with the scouts went OK, although we needed to leave early before the final races and Marcus had a wheel fall of his car (Damian should have glued it better). The time stuck in the house this month has given Marcus a lot of time to read, which he would do for the all if we let him, it's amazing to consider how far he has come with his reading in these past few years.
Sophie
Age7 Years 8 Months
Weight56.6 lb
Height4′ 2″
It's been an odd month for Sophie, the bit of school that she has done between school weather closures, teacher work days and holidays have gone well, but we seem to have had a very strange routine. Basketball and soccer are going well and Sophie seems to be getting a little more aggressive in both sports, her shooting in basketball has been improving a lot, in part due to the times when we have practiced at home. Sophie hiked well this month completing two hikes firstly a wet hike at Manassas Battlefield and secondly on the MLK holiday at Great Falls which she seemed to really enjoy on such a nice day (having a few friends there helped). Although initially reluctant to go (default position on many things these days) Sophie really liked our visit to the American Indian Museum in DC where she got do some crafts, see some artifacts, and test herself with some Alaskan physical tests.
