Marcus

Marcus had a very exciting month filled with some of his very favorite things. Early in the month Damian got to chaperone with Marcus and a few of his classmates to the Science museum in Baltimore, and although the journey there seemed to last forever (due to traffic) the museum was a lot of fun to explore. Tree cutting seemed to be a chance for Marcus to eat donuts and get muddy, both of which he did superbly. Later in the month we got snow and this was the perfect kind for snowball fights and building forts. A scout hike to the Beverly Mill later in the month let Marcus stretch his legs and get some fresh air. Marcus really liked having guests at home over Christmas, this meant good food, watching lots of movies, and generally getting away with things that he doesn't usually. Marcus got a lot of really nice stuff for Christmas this year but his favorite present was a calculator watch from Granny Kate.

Sophie

Sophie loves this time of year, the lights the decorations, time with friends, and all of the nice food, but most of all she likes the Christmas presents and time off school where she can stay in bed later than usual. This year as an especially exciting thing for Sophie, we were visited by Nien's sister Nien-Chien and Innien who did their fair share of spoiling Sophie. Sophie wasn't very happy visiting the Christmas trees in DC with family, way too cold and windy, but she really loved visiting the zoo (which we haven't been going to enough). Other highlights this month were building a gingerbread house with Nien-Chien and Marcus, and going to Medieval Times. It's hard to tell what Christmas presents Sophie liked the most, she seemed very excited to discover and open all of them.
