Leaving the beach at the start of the month was tough for Marcus, especially with the thoughts of the upcoming return to school. Marcus slipped back into school mode really smoothly and seemed to start the school year with a lot of fun, meeting his new class and teacher (Mrs. Stitzel). So far things have been going great at school and although the work has seemed a lot harder Marcus has been putting in a lot of really good effort and seems to be doing well. Travel soccer started this month and this has been taking up a lot of Marcus' spare time, his skills are improving with the extra time that he is putting in.

Sophie

Sophie started back at Oak Hill Elementary this month in Mrs. Fredericks class. She seems to be enjoying second grade a lot although in the first few weeks she did come home very tired (and grouchy) each day. Sophie really likes her class and we are hearing all good things from school about the work that she is doing there, though homework can be like pulling teeth sometimes. Visiting the zoo was a highlight for Sophie and she really loved seeing the animals again; it's been too long since the last time that we visited.
