On the 12^th (Mother's Day) Marcus and Sophie took part in the 2013 AMYazing Youth Triathlon, they both did pretty well although Sophie did not like the cold morning and Marcus seemed to have a hard time with endurance on a race that is longer than he is used to.

Marcus enjoyed May a lot; he got to ride his bike a lot, play outside a lot, and spent a lot of time at the pool. His triathlon was harder for him than he expected due to being in the 9-11 age category (age at the end of the year), this meant the distances were a lot further than last year, and we think that Marcus had a hard time finding the right pace for the added distances. The school trip to Bull Run was a lot of fun, and Marcus and his group were quite a handful for their chaperone (Damian). Williamsburg was a highlight this month and Marcus really enjoyed being the tour guide at some of the battle sites (even though his knowledge was sometimes lacking), and mountain biking in the woods was a lot of fun for him.

It's been a busy month for our little girl, she seemed to have gone to several birthday parties this month, and had her own birthday; so it's been a fun filled month full of play and sweet food. Because of all of the other parties we didn't have a party for Sophie, but we did have a special birthday dinner for her, and luckily a bunch of her best friends showed up (almost as if planned). Sophie's triathlon went well this month and she seemed surprised by how short it was. Swim team started up this month, but this hasn't been anything new because we have been swimming quite a lot at the YMCA, Sophie seems to be enjoying swimming, but we wonder if this will change when swim team starts practices in the morning, she is no morning girl. Sophie had a fun time in the Williamsburg area and liked exploring the history of the area.
