It's been a month of new starts for Marcus. Art class on Mondays with Sophie has been an eye opener although he needs to put in some work to catch up with many of the other kids in the class. School has been going great and with his newfound love of reading he seems to be doing a lot better in class this year. The Scout year begun with a pack meeting and hopefully we'll be able to make some of the activities this year. Chinese school remains a struggle for Marcus but with tennis class after school he is eager each week to go to class, although paying full attention still needs work. He has been doing well in soccer and remains a great helper around the house. Camping with Damian was a highlight for Marcus this month and he was a great example to the other kids while camping, although we did get some payback from the late night and smore diet.

Sophie has had quite a busy month, school has given us much more routine this month and many regular activities have once again started up for her. Chinese school seems to be going really well and art class on Mondays really gets her creativity rolling. School is going really well for Sophie and she seems to be doing really great in her class work and having a lot of fun making new friends and having fun with old friends. Soccer has been improving this season possibly due to the summer camp and Sophie is much more assertive than she was last season. Sophie did great in the Herndon triathlon and managed to be the first girl to cross the finish line, she did start very early being one of the youngest racers, but did an amazing job. Highlights for this month have been the sleepovers with her BFF's Emi and Gabby, dance class, scoring goals in soccer, and completing another triathlon.
