Summer camps have been going great this month here are what both kids were in:
Week1 » YMCA Outdoor discovery camp, hiking, archery, fishing, etc, this must have been a lot of fun because every day they both were returned to us dirty and sweaty.
Week2 Marcus » YMCA LEGO camp, this one seems to be OK but we didn't get a lot of feedback on the actual LEGO part, just on the general YMCA camp fun.
Week2 Sophie » US Arts, this one was Sophie's usual art place and she had a lot of fun making artwork with friends and teachers she knows from art class.
Week3 » Farm camp, conveniently close to home and lots of outdoor fun, time with the animals and exploring the farm.
Week4 » Soccer development camp, this was especially fun for Marcus & Sophie because we had two of the coaches staying at the house with us. Lots of soccer drills and games and some afternoon fun time in the pool.
Week5 » Mom camp, staying home with Nien proved to be a really good week, they did work every morning and then explored outdoor water parks in the area each afternoon.
Mid month Marcus and Sophie took part in the Reston Kids triathlon, they both did great and had a lot of fun at the same time, here are their results:

Marcus
Age7 Years 10 Months
Weight63.4 lb
Height4′ 3″
What an exciting month this has been for Marcus, he has gotten to do some new things and done more of the stuff that he loves. At the start of the month we headed to the beach for a day and Marcus had a really fun time digging in the sand and playing in the waves. Marcus did a great job in the Reston Kids Triathlon and got a really good result in his age group. Our annual trip to Dutch Wonderland in PA this month was a lot of fun and although we were worried that the kids may have outgrown some of the ride they both had a blast. Nearer the end of the month Marcus took part in the Kids Spartan race, for the race we chopped off some of the hair that he'd been growing all summer and gave Marcus a Mohegan haircut.
Sophie
Age6 Years 3 Months
Weight47 lb
Height3′ 10″
Sophie got to do some really exciting things this month; she has really been enjoying making new friends in the camps that she's attended and has been much braver this year about joining new camps and meeting. The beach day was a highlight of Sophie's month and she had a lot of fun playing in the sand with Marcus and playing in some big waves. After a little worry about the Reston kids Triathlon Sophie got into the swing of the race and did really well, although we did observe that she'll soon need a bigger bike. Dutch Wonderland means Princesses and fun for Sophie and this year was no exception, and as an added bonus a long car journey full of movies. Spending time at home with Mom was a good time for or little girl and she enjoyed the cooking and pool time, but not so much the work. Sophie did great in the Spartan race although she did bang her back at one point and was in tears by the time she crossed the finish line.
