Marcus has been enjoying summer this month, the weather has been hot and the summer camps have been a lot of fun. We started the month in the Grand Tetons & Yellowstone National park and Marcus was a real help with spending time in the car, hiking lots and spotting the wildlife. For camps this month Marcus has enjoyed a week of Soccer camp, and 2 weeks of YMCA camp (1 week 'thingy-ma-jig' and 1 week of 'Space invaders'). Swim team was super busy during July and Marcus did great in all of his races, winning a few and trying hard for all of them. In Tae Kwon Do this month Marcus managed to earn his yellow belt and was very proud. We have been making a special effort to read with Marcus and this month he has been showing a lot of improvement, still a long way to go, but the progress is good. Late in the month Damian and Marcus made a water rocket launcher and had a lot of fun letting off water rockets.

Sophie

Sophie has gotten to do many of the things that she loves this month. In Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons she got to explore with her big brother and to try lots of new things. Her little legs took her far and she was great on all of the small hikes that we went on. She has been riding her bike a little this month and she can travel a few miles now as long as she gets to wear her nice red shoes. She has spent lots of time in the pool, both playing and for swim team. Her performance in her swim races has been superb, and she really seemed to enjoy being part of the team. Camps this month have been Tae Kwon Do camp for 2 weeks, and YMCA camp for 2 weeks (with Marcus). At the end of the month she got to meet up with her good friend Faith when we went to the farm and they talked and talked like only a couple of five year old girls can. This month we've had Nien's sister staying with us, and Sophie has been a good helper with our guest.
