This month our big guy turned six, and he was super happy, if not to reach the milestone, then for all of the nice gifts and fun times that he had for his big day. On his birthday Marcus spent the evening at an inflatable play facility where he shared a party with Rocky who was five on Marcus's birthday. There were enough birthday presents for Marcus without being too many and he got some really nice stuff. His favorite gift for this year is the LEGO truck set that he got from Granny Katy, and Granddad Dave; which he was still working on at the end of the month. Our weekend trip to Chicago was a chance to again celebrate his birthday and also to see a lot of really good friends and family. Nearer the end of the month we dressed up for Halloween; Marcus was a swamp monster this year and had great fun going around collecting treats from a lot of houses in the neighborhood. This month we have had really good feedback from school about Marcus's behavior in the classroom and he has shown improvement in his schoolwork.
Sophie
Age
4 Years 5 Months
Weight
40.8 lb
Height
3′ 6″
Sophie has really enjoyed this month; she has had lots of time to play outside in the cooling weather and has been doing really well at both Montessori school and Chinese school. Her verbal skills are very impressive and her pronunciation of both English and Chinese is often better than both of her parents. Chicago was a highlight of this month for Sophie because she got to spend time with lots of other girls and one of her very favorite people Aunt Nien-Chien. Tae Kwon Do has been going well for Sophie, which in part is helped by her very supple body that can stretch in ways that the rest of the family cannot imagine. Soccer has been a weekly highlight and playing on Coach Damian's team has been rewarding for both Sophie and Damian. At Halloween Sophie got to release her inner princess when she dressed up as a princess and had a blast following (sometimes leading) the boys between houses to get more treats. We were very proud of her and Marcus when they didn't eat too much candy and instead told us about all of the things that they shouldn't eat.
