At the end of June we bid farwell to Saskia (Damian's sister) Steve, Joshua and Ethan as we headed to Chicago to spend some time with Nien's family for the 4th of July. The drive to Chicago was pleasant and pretty uneventful, and our time in Chicagoland was a lot of fun, spending time with family and getting a chance to see some sights.
When we arrived home from our Chicago trip we didn't have much time to relax because we needed to begin the process of getting the house ready to sell. Near the end of the month all was going well and we were trying to live in the house without making ANY mess, which is very hard when there are two young children in the house. We will move into the new house in early August and the prospect is very exciting.
Marcus
Age3 Years 9 Months
Weight40 lb
Height3′ 4″
Marcus has watched this month as we have packed away his toys and slowly moved them to the garage. Ever resourceful Marcus has found many new ways to entertain himself by climbing the remaining furniture, and running around really fast in our empty house. School has been on a summer schedule this month and this has meant a lot of activities that Marcus loves, these include: slip and slide days, magicians, water park days, bring your bike to school, and much more. There have been a few questions from Marcus about the house move but most of these have been based on what we can take "can we take my bed too", we have been sure to make sure that he knows that he is on the move list.
Sophie
Age2 Years 2 Months
Weight30.4 lb
Height2′ 10″
This month Sophie has been developing her coordination, and although her walking still looks a little wobbly she has achieved what seems to be a personal goal of mastering the jump, perhaps with three boys (Joshua, Marcus, and Ethan) to impress this has been made more important to Sophie this month. Soccer classes started for both Sophie and Marcus and Sophie seems to be loving the running around and chasing the ball, maybe this too has be helping her general coordination skills which seem to be coming along really well.
