At the start of October we were busy trying to arrange Marcus's birthday party at the local pumpkin patch. Soon after the birthday party we were once again spinning our wheels trying to arrange last minute plans for our trip to Hawaii. After Hawaii and the jetlag that followed we got busy getting ready for Halloween. It's been a busy month and we have managed to do a lot of really fun things.
Marcus Age 3 Years Weight 36.5 lb Height 3′ 2″ Head 52.5 cm
The big THREE Marcus had been looking forward to his birthday party for about a month (we shouldn't have told him so early in hindsight) and with the buildup we needed to make sure that he had a memorable day. The weather was warm but overcast (luckily no rain) and we had a lot of fun exploring the park and sliding down the slides. Marcus had a lot of fun and seemed to really like being the center of attention for a short while. Over the next few days we started the process of slowly opening gifts and writing thank you cards, which was also a whole lot of fun.Hawaii - Marcus was really good on vacation in Hawaii, he seemed to really enjoy being there and discovering new things, although he did try to test the limits on a more regular basis than usual. He was very adventurous in the water and would often go a little deeper than we would like.Sophie Age 1 Year 5 Months Weight 26.5 lb Height 2′ 7″
Little Miss Independent - "No", "self" (I'll do it myself), "go that way", "Daddy no, Mommy no" - are the kinds of words that we have been hearing a lot from Sophie this month. She insists on eating her own food and brushing her own teeth which can be really funny to watch. On vacation she was happiest on the beach covered in sand and shouting at the waves. She seemed to think little of the Hawaiian scenery, but was very happy sampling food and dancing in her hula outfit (as was her brother for that matter).
