November 2006>

October is one of our favorite months, the weather is usually pretty nice and the changes outside are really nice to watch. Pumpkin patches are a real fun event especially now that Marcus is old enough to take full (well partial really) advantage of them, and playing in the leaves is a game that the whole family can play. It was really nice at Halloween to wander around local houses with Marcus, who was amazed that all these people wanted to give him all that sugar. It's not all good though, this is the time of year that we start getting colds and this October has been no exception. With four of us sharing our colds and our extended daycare families we don't really stand a chance of avoiding getting sick.
Kitchen
We managed to do a few things on our kitchen project this month but progress is slow because Marcus and Sophie need most of our time. Damian finally managed to match the color of the older wooden flooring and we decided that we would repaint the walls which, adds to the project list.

Marcus
Age2 Years
Weight31.3 lb
Height2′ 11″
Yap Yap Yap - Marcus has been developing his language really well this month and has been copying us, at times a little too well. He can consistently says a few sentences that maybe we are the only people able to understand e.g. Mar-Mooor-WaWa-Peeese-DaDa is Marcus speak for "Marcus more water please Dad?". There has been a definite change in the way that we deal with Marcus and we often have to phrase or perform our demands in a way that will please him. If we lay Marcus down for a diaper change, he will stand up saying Mar-Doo (Marcus do), then proceed to lie himself down in exactly the same position. We turn of his lights and when he complains, (Mar-Doo), we pick him up so that he can turn them on, then back off. Marcus's 2nd birthday was on the 6th and we celebrated with a small party at his daycare and an even smaller quasi-party at home.
Sophie
Age5 Months
Weight15 lb
Height2′ 1″
Traveling girl - Sophie has been making it clear to us that she wants to be more mobile, we can put her down on the floor, leave her for a few minutes and she will have moved around the room. She does this in G.I Joe (or 'Action Man' depending on your continent) fashion by crawling along and rolling when the crawling doesn't yield the required travel.
