Marcus
Age
1 Year 8 Months
Weight
31 lb
Height
2′ 10″
This month Marcus got his first bed (a mattress on the floor), and has managed to keep us up every night since. The mobility of not being in his crib is a curse to anyone in the house who wants to sleep through the night. After our upcoming trip we will really make a concerted effort to pull him into line (we promise). June has been a month for getting closer to Sophie, and learning to help out in more ways that before. Even though sometimes he can try too hard to ease Sophie's discomfort, he loves her very much and is very attuned to her needs. Language has been improving more this month, no real sentences yet but a lot of new words and a lot of copying. Marcus enjoyed going on a few long walks with us this month and likes to shout at the animals at the zoo. While Damian was in LA on a business trip Marcus managed to develop a mysterious illness which gave him sky rocketing high temperatures (up to 104.8f). This made Nien work very hard, especially when getting Marcus to sleep. The illness seemed to disappear when Damian returned home, maybe he was just love sick. We took Marcus swimming for the first time in ages this month and after the initial trepidation he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Sophie
Age
1 Month
Weight
12.2 lb
Height
1′ 10″
Sophie has been developing her personality and is very responsive to what we say and do, she often laughs at us when we make funny sounds or tickle her feet. She regurgitates milk more than Marcus ever did (we think that Marcus just hates to waste food) and can save up a bowel movement to the point of explosion, neither of which are admirable skills. She has been a non-consenting participant in a few walks in the woods and a visit to the zoo, what she thought of these activities we will surely never know. Late in the month she got a little too hairy so we decided to give her that very first hair cut, she didn't like this very much and so the cut was far from easy or perfect, you know how girls are about their hair.
