Well month one wasn't too bad, we did have our fair share of sleepless nights and trying to solve the riddle of the scrunched up face but on the whole I think that we did OK.
Day One
OK, so I'm as tired as I have ever been and then some, that was tough, and what I went through was a drop in the ocean compared to what Nien did, she did great. Did everything go to plan? Well kinda, we ended going into the hospital early as I had thought that Niens labor was false labor (erratic duration of contractions). Then the shocker of the size of Marcus, which explained the pain that Nien endured, and the time that it took to get the little (or not so little) guy out of there.
Week 2
Marcus started this week with a few temperamental nights where he kept us up for a little longer than usual, hopefully not a taste of the times ahead. His little chunk of umbilical cord managed to work its way off leaving the beginnings of a belly button (no surprise there).
Week 3
This week Marcus again got to visit the doctor for a regular checkup, here are his stats: All this put him in the 92nd percentile (whatever the heck that means). He today (22nd) got his first shot of Hepatitis B which gave us a bit of a screamer but I think that it may have been more shock and pride for the little guy than anything else. Sleep has been getting a little better this week, Marcus must be learning that its not too nice to wake up Mommy and Daddy in the middle of the night. Generally he is looking pretty alert and is starting to get more and more responsive.
Week 4
It's 3am and I'm sitting downstairs with a "sometimes" sleeping lump on my lap, oh how nice it would be to be asleep right now. "Little Big Man" (he will probably never know the movie) has had a bit of a temperamental few days, not the whole time, but it seems just at the wrong times, I think that his body clock may be a little off schedule, or maybe those haloween ghosts are toying with him.
